Abstract: In the 17th and the 18th century, the Moldavian historians Miron and Nicolae Costin gave some very interesting piece of information about Spain in their works. Miron Costin reflected the image of the Antique and the Modern Spain, while his son, also managed to bring to life the first translation of an Occidental novel into Romanian: Antonio de Guevara’s “The clock of princes”. In their works, Spain is depicted as a Romanized country, full of history, bravery, and most of all, culture. The events presented in their works give extremely interesting news about the presence of the general Juan Castaldo in Transylvania, trying to help Ferdinand, Charles V’s brother to win the Hungarian throne, the conquest of Napoli by the Spanish during the reign of Ferdinand the Catholic, illustrating a very convincing picture of the world of their time. In fact, the information given by the two Moldavian historians, even if it is correct or not, makes us understand the way in which Spain was conceived in Moldavia by the time when the two Costins, father and son, wrote.
