Abstract: Our approach aims to bring to the attention of those interested an unpublished dramatic text, discovered in the ”Camil Petrescu Archive” at the Library of the Romanian Academy. This is the first scene – out of the two existing in the manuscript – of an early version of the play Venetian Act. The foreword accompanying the text presents and comments on the contents of this manuscript notebook which, alongside the aforementioned play, also includes documentary materials—drafts, outlines, etc.— that can offer a comprehensive picture of the writer’s rich creative laboratory
