The identified typologies are designed archetypally and therefore I looked for their roots in theatrical solutions that stem from the Greek Antiquity, going through the Commedia Dell’arte and connect to the expressionist model of character development. Masks of the ego, female characters, all these are tuning forks that allow the voice deep down to take the shape of the word, designed as a poetic message and sent from the creator to the audience with whom it cohabitates in a moral ambiguity that is specific to…

On the one hand, we should keep in mind that, since the end of the 19th c., the “slum” is imagined both psychologically, as a state of mind, and geo-sociologically, as an earlier stage in the development of Bucharest’s suburban areas. Following in I.L. Caragiale’s footsteps, the “slum” was depicted by such novelists as Mihai Celerianu, Damian Stănoiu, or Gib Mihăescu. On the other hand, the “periphery” represents a space newly created due to the expansion of the city, during industrialization. The social report was the non-literary genre which informed the realist fiction depicting this space and its specific social issues. George Mihail Zamfirescu, Carol Ardeleanu or Constantin Barcaroiu were the most significant novelists who dealt with this topos….

Her poems intend to be both authentic and concept-based. Desperation, fury, curses, physical and psychological pain, obsession, hysteria, all of these represent the state of mind the reader adopts. And this happens mainly because Marta Petreu proves to be a skilled, self-centered orchestrator of inner degradation. The concept is Marta Petreu’s ontological space where she isolates herself looking for semantic and linguistic uniqueness among other feminine Romanian voices of her generation. For her, even the ever searched for, analyzed, classified love remains deeply…

The autobiographical project that encompasses his whole work is governed by this creative principle, whose importance seems to have been recognized first by the great Romanian exile Mircea Eliade, who is seen in this article as a kind of a paternal and mythical figure for the Romanian exile. The return to the maternal language and to fiction is perceived, in this sense, as the return to a Romanian paradoxical identity. The article describes the relationship between critical interpretation, personal memory and bookish imagination, analyzing a few fragments from the Romanian edition of the volume (Re)reading. Keywords: imagination, memory, (re)reading, autobiographical project, cultural identity.

The unexpected angles of this character are brought up to the surface by the means of the psychoanalytical method applied on the facts that appear all along the Hallipa’s Cycle novels and in the novel The Stranger. The article is structured in two sections: the first section introduces readers to the story of Elena Drăgănescu such as it is perceived by other characters and by the writer herself; the second section diagnoses this character and draws conclusions on her psychological complexes, on her ranging in the typology of C. G. Jung and Otto Rank while analyzing her drives based on Sigmund Freud’s, Alfred Adler’s and Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalytical visions.
